Before Instapaper Pro 2.2, I got frequent emails from customers who were upset that they had inadvertently tapped the status bar, which scrolls to the top of the article and loses their position. I understood completely, since losing your read position is a form of minor data loss.
Funnily enough, I was one such user. I emailed Marco on August 6th, 2009.
If you click on the top status bar in Instapaper, you scroll to the top of the article you are reading. I know this is the usual behaviour for most applications, but it doesn’t seem to make much sense for Instapaper. The only time i’ve used this feature is by accident, and then I have to find where I was in the article I was reading. It’d be nice if you could turn this off.
This is probably my favourite new feature in Instapaper 2.3. The paging update is really nice, but I was fairly happy scrolling through what I was reading. The paging feature was something I didn’t know I really wanted. This feature is something I knew I wanted. Badly.
Instapaper is awesome. You should buy it already.
I’ve been careful...not need it yet, but I can already say you have my thanks.
